Fantastic experience: Could not recommend Newcastle Physiotherapy enough. It was my first time going to a Physio due to some concerning shoulder pain/weakness. Fatma was so thorough and took a lot of time to understand where I was feeling pain and discomfort, the care and support I got was amazing, and after a few sessions and exercises to do at home I could really see improvement. Fatma explained everything clearly, was friendly and easy to chat to and put me right at ease. Booking was simple, and all staff were very welcoming and friendly. The number of 5* reviews speak for themselves.

I’ve suffered from a bad upper back for years, with it getting better on and off through having sports massages, today it feels like Steven actually got to the route of the problem in only a half an hour session. I came out feeling so much better. Despite only being booked for a sports massage and not a full consultation, Steven made sure that I left with much more knowledge and ways to help whilst I’m at home. I’m shocked after how many massages, sports massages and even physio sessions that none addressed the areas that were address in my session today and it finally feels like I have found someone so knowledgeable who will really be able to help not just in the short term but in the long term too. Thanks to Joanna for going out of her way to fit in the second session, for relieving the pain of course but also providing good advice and a great stretching and exercise programme. I had 4 appointments in the past two weeks with her because of left fracture wrist after removing the plaster. She had practised her expert management to relieve the oedema over my left hand. She was cheerful, patient and gentle, and also her management was effective. She also taught me exercise to strengthen the muscle. Now I can move my hand much better. Recovery progress well. Fantastic experience: Steven Workman is very professional, polite and knowledgeable. He has helped me tremendously with a partial tear to my Rotator Cuff. He not only knows his stuff but makes the visits enjoyable despite the treatment being testing at times. He takes pride in making a difference to my movements by the end of the visits. I am back for a third visit and would highly recommend him. A year later, I'm back again, I specifically chose to see Steven again as I have every confidence in him diagnosing and treating me. Three sessions in I am not only pain free but have almost full mobility.

Fantastic experience: I had a hip replacement in August 2022, which progressed well. I even started low-key pilates classes in January. However, by March I was experiencing quite bad knee pain at night and my lower back was increasingly stiff and painful, despite doing the exercises I had been given at the hospital. I had my first consultation with Fatma at the end of March, when she assessed my problems and we agreed a programme of action. Fatma was knowledgeable, reassuring and very helpful. The treatment she gave me together with the exercises I was given to do at home made a huge difference! The knee pain gradually subsided and my back was much better. By early May I was back doing pilates every other week and seeing Fatma between the classes. At the end of June I went cycle touring for one week with my husband from Dundee to Inverness, completely pain free! Thank you Fatma!!

I've used other private and also NHS physio before, but find this physiotherapist is by far the best at relieving the problem and pain quickly...which is what you need when you're suffering!

Fantastic experience: I signed up to see `a senior physiotherapist' for a `sports massage' in order to get help quickly with a shoulder injury, before going on a trip. I saw Gareth, who was more helpful than I could possible have hoped for. Not only did he give me a very effective massage, but he realised immediately that part of my problem was elsewhere in my back/neck, and sent me a suite of relevant exercises. His continuing advice and his massages (I returned for more...) have really helped, and the problem (which I now realise has been long-standing) is definitely receding. I am confident that I will fix it completely, am diligently doing my exercises, and love those massages. I don't have private insurance, but I'd certainly choose those massages over pretty much any leisure activity. Thanks Gareth.

Finally found Darren Wigg and had first appointment last week. Was immediately reassured by the thorough assessment and his level of knowledge. Fantastic experience: I have history of a complicated back problem and I am extremely apprehensive about seeing someone who isn’t familiar with my experience. I had been going to another reputable physio in the city centre but after a not so good experience, Newcastle Physiotherapy was recommended by a friend and in particular, Darren Wigg. I called up and explained to the receptionist about my condition, my surgeries, and that I had been experiencing quite a bad flare up with new symptoms. She was very polite and was honest and said she would speak to Darren before making me an appointment. She called back within the hour (as promised) with an appointment with Darren later that week. I initially had my consultation with Darren and he was excellent. I discussed the background of my injury and the new symptoms I had been experiencing. Darren explained everything even showing me on a demonstration spine and a poster of the nerves that my symptoms were an indication of. I had a follow up appointment the following week where Darren spent time trying to relieve the trigger points in my leg and back. Anyone who has back problems will understand that this is painful but a good painful when you have seized up. I have been seeing Darren every week for the last couple of months and despite me needing surgery I do feel a huge improvement from the initial visit. Darren has been excellent and I can’t thank him enough, he goes that extra mile and pays a genuine interest in his clients. Even though he’s a physiotherapist he has probably become a therapist to me as well . I have attended both the Jesmond and Gosforth clinics and they are both very well presented and clean. Chris on reception is another who is super friendly and like Darren, is a genuine good bloke. All the staff are very courteous and polite. Not only has Darren treated me but has provided me with exercises and stretches making sure I do them correctly at the appointments unlike NHS services that give you a sheet and send you away. Darren has also given me some hope for the future after my surgeries and is gonna help my recovery with physio and pilates. I can’t recommend the clinic enough and can’t praise the staff enough for how excellent they are.

Tried getting help from the NHS but was just going in circles - searched up Physiotherapy in Newcastle and this place was the top search. On the first session Anne-Marie was able to find the issue with ease and has helped me solve the issue ever since that day :)

It's been a while since I've done physiotherapy so I was slightly nervous going in (with a bad sprain in my right quad).
