Storm Fitness is about providing high quality coaching to help clients achieve their health and fitness goals. Our facility is conveniently located just off the coast road a few minutes East of Newcastle city centre.
A friendly, welcoming gym with all the facilities you need to progress whether you're just starting a fitness journey or if you're aiming to improve sports performance.
We pride ourselves on our team of experienced personal trainers that have all the tools to help you succeed. We work exclusively with clients 1 to 1 and in small groups of up to 4. Which allows us to tailor all coaching to our clients needs.
We have ample parking just outside the facility, and a 2 minute walk from Walkergate Metro.

Fantastic experience: I have been training at Storm Fitness for a few months now and it’s great! My trainer, Lucy Turner, while friendly and great she doesn’t let me off the hook and pushes me to do better. I am feeling the benefits of the training routine that takes into account the way my muscles recuperate and stuff I do outside of the gym! Fantastic experience: Training at Storm, and specifically with Reema, has been my best experience of personal training to date. I came to Storm having received results of a Dexa bone density scan showing reduced density in my spine from medication p and having a neurological muscle weakening condition. From the first consultation Reema listened to my goals and my challenges and designed a plan accordingly. She took the time to understand my condition and adjusted sessions at the last minute to accommodate me when my muscles were not functioning to their full capacity. The sessions were fun but also training focused so I felt like I was getting the most out of my time in the gym. The gym is well equipped and quiet so you don’t feel like you’re being watched by other clients. I also appreciate that Reema was never pushy when discussing packages and simply provided the options for me to decide on how many sessions to buy. Since my time at Storm, being a few months, I have noticed physical changes in my body. This is without restricting my diet also and learning how to properly fuel. I’ve come to love going to the gym and confidently go by myself to a commercial gym now, feeling fully equipped with the knowledge on how to execute exercises properly. I have also gotten a 5km PB and competed in my first sprint distance triathlon. I’ve noticed consistent training has improved my mood, body and no doubt my health. Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Reema for six months and things I never thought I’d be able to do, such as deadlifts or even being able to touch my toes, I can now do. I no longer get up from the couch and growl in pain. I feel I’m getting stronger every week and that’s thanks to a carefully curated program that is attentive to my needs and abilities, as well as pushing me to achieve more and more. The effect on my body and mind has been incredible and I’m so grateful to the team at Storm and especially Reema for creating a safe, understanding and non judgemental environment.

Fantastic experience: Great all round service and supportive hybrid coaching. Had an ACL reconstruction (internal brace) in April and started training with Spencer straight away. 3 days a week training plan with 1 day in person allowed me to work on form and ask any questions. Structured monthly plans which progressed in stages to improve knee stability and strength. Very knowledgeable and supportive throughout. Greatly increased my recovery time and allowed me to run a half marathon (GNR) 5 months post op. Couldn’t recommend enough, continued training after sign off from surgeon and physio, both of them reviewed training plans from Spencer and were impressed with the knowledge and support provided as part of the hybrid training. Gym is very clean and has large range of equipment. Large open space which is very nice to train in, never too busy.

Fantastic experience: The best at what they do! If you’re having any doubts, don’t Lucy, my PT is awesome! She’s friendly and professional and will work with you towards your goal, regularly checking to make sure you’re enjoying the program she designs for you. The gym is very private and everyone pretty much minds their own business, so if you’re like me and feel self conscious at times, this is the perfect space for ya!
Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and very welcoming. I can’t recommend Storm Fitness highly enough. Following injury and a prolonged recovery, I was referred to Spencer at Storm Fitness by my Physio. I was a reluctant participant, very nervous and hesitant, but I am absolutely loving the training and getting stronger by the day.
Fantastic experience: Lucy was born to train. I have had a few PTs over the years and she is by far and away the best I have worked with. Her attention to detail is second to none, her workouts are on point and most importantly her overall ability to coach is founded in her own experience, training and natural ability. 100% worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: Storm fitness has really changed my life since January. After struggling with knee pain for years, I had almost given up hope of ever being able to do the activities I loved again, including running, skiing and dancing. I spent hundreds of pounds on physio, massage, pilates and specialised insoles with no success. As a last resort, I googled knee rehabilitation specialists in Newcastle and found Spencer at Storm fitness. Following careful assessment and an individualised training programme, Spencer helped build up the strength again in my knee. In less than a month of working together, the pain had resolved, and I started to feel like myself again. As the months went by, I began participating in my favourite activities once more, training for long bike rides and triathlons. Spencer’s programming introduced me to consistent weight training, and I feel much stronger and more confident as a result. He always prioritises my fitness goals and tailors my sessions accordingly. The general environment at Storm fitness is so warm and welcoming, I always get a smile and a hello when attending for sessions. Overall, I can’t recommend Storm fitness enough, whether you are seeking knee rehabilitation or wanting to improve your general health, this is the place to be!
Fantastic experience: I came to Storm Fitness with a knee injury from running Kielder half in 2023. I was struggling to walk without pain and was unable to run. I was lucky enough to be referred to Lome, who has been absolutely fantastic. He is very knowledgeable, kind and encouraging and within 8/10 weeks I’ve been able to get back to running without pain. I feel much stronger and have seen progress with each workout. If you are experiencing issues post injury or want to strengthen/ prevent future injuries I would recommend Lome without any hesitation!
Fantastic experience: I have always enjoyed sports and exercise. As I entered my 40s I knew to stay strong and continue to enjoy the sports I love I had to build and sustain muscle and range of motion. Having suffered a sports injury resulting in a disk replacement in my neck I was nervous and didn’t know where to start with weight training. Storm was recommended by a friend and I feel lucky to have found Lucy as a PT. She is attentive and invested in my goals. She manages to balance support and challenge during the training sessions which helps me safely push myself. I tend to ignore niggles of discomfort but she regularly checks and modifies the exercise to let me continue progressing. Most of all I enjoy training with Lucy because of her infectious enthusiasm! Fantastic experience: Since starting to train with Lucy at Storm fitness, I've seen a huge improvement in my confidence in and out of the gym. I feel stronger, healthier and happier. My original goal was to lose weight for my wedding but actually i've completely changed my mindset around health and fitness. I've shifted to wanting to get stronger and improve my technique rather than focus on a goal that actually isn't that important to me. Lucy has got me enjoying lifting weights and has helped me to fall back in love with exercise again. Lucy is patient with me but also pushes me when I need it. She adapts sessions with injuries and still makes them fun and challenging. Going to storm every week has become such an important part of my week and self care routine! Fantastic experience: As a fifty-something gym-phobic man with little prior exercise experience, attending Storm has been very good for me. Following an initial consultation I decided on a programme of three sessions per week for two months and have seen a significant improvement in my strength, flexibility, mobility and muscle-definition. Fantastic experience: Ted and the team at storm are unique to anything I’ve experienced in a gym or training studio before. They have this bizarre trick of being able to make you feel totally comfortable and relaxed yet you end up dripping in sweat and totally exhausted by the end of the session - amazing! In all seriousness it’s by far the most professional and organised studio I’ve ever trained in, and it’s genuinely the first time I’ve ever actually enjoyed training - Ted built a plan when I started and we haven’t deviated from it, the weight is getting progressively heavier, the work is getting harder and I am improving my flexibility and mobility but we’ve stuck to a plan to gradually increase my strength and fitness. I have suffered with hip and lower back problems in the past, Ted is totally accommodating, clearly knowledgeable in respect of training with past injuries and Ive seen great improvements in strength and flexibility in these areas. We talk about nutrition, rest and hydration, it’s a complete package to improve your fitness and health. Storm is an amazing place to train, it’s friendly, professional, not intimidating at all and I couldn’t recommend the guys highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Storm Fitness is a fab gym- very friendly, plenty of coffee and lots of experienced staff that will help you with any fitness related goal. After over a year of training with Lucy, I am the most consistent I’ve ever been in the gym and as a result am stronger and fitter. The sessions always have a really positive effect on my health from a physical and mental perspective. Every session is enjoyable and fun! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: It takes a special person to make dragging yourself out of bed on dark, rainy mornings to lift weights seem appealing. But Lucy does it. I started at Storm as a complete novice at the gym, but desperate to feel healthy, strong and confident in my body. And Storm (and Lucy!) delivered. Lucy is warm, kind and a complete pro. She strikes the perfect balance of gently pushing you out of your comfort zone whilst making you feel powerful and confident at the same time. She’s single-handedly ignited a love for fitness and exercise in me that I didn’t know I had. For that, and for being such a beam of light, thank you Lucy! ❤️ The gym is spotless, calm and spacious. I’d really recommend Storm to anyone who wants to make a change, and find somewhere relaxed and professional to work out. Fantastic experience: I have been training with Reema for around 2 months now. Honestly, it's been a fantastic experience. As someone who hates crowded places, this has been the perfect set up for me. It's never crowded and it's a very friendly and welcoming place. The gym itself is a nice spacious building that doesn't feel too small but not too big either. I'd say it's probably around the perfect size. The music is pretty good too, I've ended up with some stuck in my head after a session. It's all 1 to 1 based training, which is awesome as you don't have to worry about doing anything wrong, as you are told and shown how to do everything properly. It doesn't matter what your fitness levels are, they have an hour consultation with you for free to talk about what you require to fit your needs. Special mention to my trainer Reema, she's been very patient with me as due to my condition I'm a bit slow on doing things correctly. I'd say I'm more of a visual learner and she always shows me step by step how to do different exercises. She's extremely knowledgeable about what foods to eat and what exercises to do. She has helped me change my entire diet which is something that I thought was impossible! My confidence has improved tremendously because of her. She's very friendly and always encourages me to go as far I can. I'm not the most talkative of people but that hasn't been a problem because she seems to be the exact opposite! Exercise has actually become fun for me, albeit I'm sometimes completely knackered because of it, and it's all thanks to Reema. I even look forward to coming here which is something I never thought would happen with anything exercise related! I'm very socially awkward and anxious so I was apprehensive about signing up but I'm glad I did. No one seems bothered by my aloofness. The progress has been amazing so far. If you are on the fence about signing up, I'd say go for it. It would have been a massive regret for me if I didn't. It truly is a people centred gym. Don't worry about your ability or your confidence levels, your trainer will help you improve every step of the way. And thank you Spencer for a brilliant gym!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to train - such a difference to the usual crammed gym offerings and fighting to get on machines! I've been working with Spencer around knee rehab for the past couple of months and he level of knowledge is unsurpassed, he's really bringing my confidence back up along side big improvements in strength and functional fitness already. Fantastic experience: A great sized gym with varied equipment. The environment is welcoming and you feel comfortable straight away, there is always free equipment as the gym never gets too full as everyone has their scheduled time - so no queuing! The gym is full of friendly people and staff which is a key thing when training particularly if you are new to exercising and less confident like myself. Reema is an amazing trainer, I honestly look forward to training every week which I never thought I’d hear myself saying!! Overall a great place to train for people of all ages and all levels of fitness.

Fantastic experience: Izzy is so very knowledgeable and has been gently tenacious with this old exercise phobe so that post lockdowns/ post menopause I can see and feel a real difference in my physical health and mental outlook… and it’s fun…there I said it…exercise is fun!!!
Fantastic experience: In summer 2021 after a downhill spiral I was told I’d need a double knee replacement. I was an active 56 year old whose happy places were on the water paddling and swimming , on a bike cycling, in the mountains skiing …..you get the drift! But, I’d almost stopped being me due to knee pain! I decided to start fresh; new knees new me - and to put everything I had into prehab, rehab, and the journey back to an active adventurous life. A friend recommended Spencer at Storm Fitness and I couldn’t be happier I made the call and commitment. The last year has been difficult, painful at times, and required a resilience and determination I wasn’t sure I possessed. With his exceptional knowledge, personally tailored programme and calm encouraging nature, Spencer has not only helped me rebuild my strength but also my belief in myself . In the past few months, I have cycled The Col d’Isere in France and my favourite cycle to the lighthouse at Cape Formentera on Mallorca. I am back Stand-up Paddleboarding, I can swim a mile in the pool and I feel like I’m not just alive…but living again. I’ve booked my first post -TKR ski trip and have high hopes . I’m so thrilled with what Spencer has helped me achieve…and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together in the next year!

Fantastic experience: I have been loving my sessions with Lou at storm. The facilities are excellent and Louise’s training has been really focussed on my personal weaknesses and adapted each session based on how I’m feeling. Fantastic experience: I have been training with Lucy for some months now, and I have only had positive experiences so far. Just two 1-hour sessions a week after work have been showing more results (and have been more fun) than any of my previous attempts to hit the gym. The environment is very supportive and I've never seen it get too crowded or noisy. It's also right by the Walkergate Metro station, which is about a 10 minute journey from Monument
Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Lucy Turner for almost an years now, and believe she is one of the most experienced & committed trainers around. I generally train once a week and really enjoy the variety & challenge she puts into the sessions. Lucy is very focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging but equally more important - fun. My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen all round improvements in my ability to complete more sit ups / core exercises, lift progressively heavier weights & generally push myself harder throughout each session. Most importantly Lucy always ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries and plans exercise routines based on personal requirements and always in advance and ahead of sessions. I actually look forward to my workout sessions with her and would highly recommend Lucy to anyone looking to improve their fitness through personal trainer.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at Storm for several years. I started after a period of dealing with various health conditions, which my PT, Dave Ball, really wanted to understand before he set about planning how we would work together to achieve my goals. I think that’s a big difference with Storm; most gyms claim to do this, but in my experience, the trainers often apply a generic training template that either becomes boring or stops working. Not so with Storm. Five years into my health and fitness journey, my PT, Dave, continues to adapt my training to what’s happening in my life while pushing me to keep working a little bit harder. I never quite find a ‘level’ with Dave and Storm, which is how it should be! It’s also worth mentioning that Storm really is a gym for everyone. I’ve seen people of all ages training at Storm - mums, dads, kids, athletes, and everything in between. There’s a mix of male and female PTs with years of experience under their belts, and it always feels like a safe place and friendly place to work out. The facilities are also second to none, and it’s never crowded. So whatever your health and fitness goals, Storm can help you get there.

As my first foray into exercise since having my second baby, Lou has been incredibly supportive throughout and has tailored my programme to suit my abilities and my postpartum health too. There’s nobody else I’d rather train with, and nowhere else I’d rather train!
Fantastic experience: Me and my partner trained with Louise for just under a year and couldn’t recommend her enough. She done excellent working on both our separate goals yet managed to create fitness plans we could complete together. She’s always extra motivated and upbeat, I wasn’t a gym fan when I first started and she somehow managed to turn that around even if my face didn’t say it. When me and my partner split we still attended our sessions twice a week because louise made us both feel comfortable and kept pushing us towards our independent goals. Excellent equipment and you couldn’t find a better PT in Newcastle
Fantastic experience: Trained with Louise (@louise.maclaine) at Storm for just under a year and would highly recommend. I did 2 to 1 sessions with my partner and Louise was fab at working on both our goals; building muscle mass for me and weight loss for my partner. Louise has always been very flexible working with both our schedules and manages to fit us in even if it’s right at the end of the evening when we know she has been at the gym with clients since very early in the morning. Unfortunately halfway through the year my partner and I broke up but we continued to see Louise together 2x a week as we both really enjoyed the sessions. She always has a positive attitude but takes on a tough no-nonsense approach which I love and I’ve definitely seen an improvement in my fitness and I’m now happy using the gym equipment independently when I train on my own during the rest of the week. I’ve been with other very good PTs in Newcastle but you can’t beat Louise.

Fantastic experience: My visits to Storm are an important part of my week. The place is spacious and clean. All the trainers are friendly and welcoming. My trainer Spencer has patiently worked with me over the last years getting me stronger and more confident both physically and mentally. He has also helped me minimise injury and guided me through niggles that would have probably made me stop going to the gym in the past. I class my sessions as Storm as non-negotiable.

Fantastic experience: Started training at Storm 12 weeks ago and all I have to say is it’s life changing! Not only have I gained weight and muscle from months and months of a bad lifestyle which led me to be unhealthy and underweight, I have also regained my confidence and self discipline which was missing for so long. Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Storm Fitness for around 7/8 weeks now and honestly it's changed my life even in the short time I've been coming. When I first started I had been unable to walk properly for over a year and a half after I had damaged my spine, i was barely walking a few meters without being out of breath and in agonising pain. I'd gained so much weight and my mental health was deteriorating to the point where i barely even left my house. Now, my walking has improved so much that I'm starting to feel like a normal person again, and that's all thanks to Izzy. I'm getting stronger, fitter and the weight is starting to come off too, making both my physical and metal health so much easier to work on. If I hadn't started coming to see Izzy, I really don't know where I would be right now, but I know for a fact I would be in a much much worse state than I already was, and I'd probably be digging myself even deeper into that hole. She's fully changed my life, both in the sense that she's helped with my fitness journey, but also helping me out of the mental rutt that I was in. I haven't felt this good about myself for a LONG time, and that's a lot down to her. I know Storm is just a gym, but the way that all the trainers there make you feel welcome, how they personalise every session to you and your needs and they take into account everything else going on in your life in a way that I've NEVER experienced in a gym before makes this place really special. If your looking for a PT in the area, come to Storm. I really can't sing their praises any higher.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Louise since January 2022 and have loved every minute of it! Louise is friendly, professional and really encouraging. With Louise’s training programme and guidance I’ve been able to make solid progress toward my goals and gained bags of confidence along the way. Fantastic experience: I have been training at Storm with Lucy for over 5 months now and I am loving it! I started training due to an injury in my knee and back and my programme was about developing strength to help with that. It’s helped me so much not only physically but mentally as well and I’m really enjoying my sessions. Lucy makes me feel really comfortable and she pushes me to do my best. She is very knowledgable in her field and I love her training. I find them challenging but fun and I’m noticing a real difference in my strength and shape. The facilities and the staff at storm are always so welcoming, it’s a great place to build knowledge of you want to start weight training.

Fantastic experience: I started training at Storm with Izzy back in October 2021 and I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've ever done. I've had a complicated relationship with health and fitness and was always daunted by the idea of going to a personal trainer. I needn't have been worried as Izzy was non-judgemental from day one, taking time to understand my history and goals and creating a tailored programme to help me achieve them. Izzy takes a holistic approach, helping me resolve chronic musculoskeletal issues I thought would never improve, working with me on body recomposition, and building healthier nutritional habits. I really enjoy the sessions and have seen better results in the last five months than I have in the last fifteen years trying to do things on my own. Thank you Izzy!

Fantastic experience: I trained with Dave for just under a year. I lost 8kg and completely changed my attitude to diet and exercise thanks to Dave's guidance. Sessions were challenging but always made enjoyable. Unfortunately, I moved out of the area now and I genuinely miss the sessions. Would recommend Dave to anyone, a brilliant PT and good crack.
Fantastic experience: I've been training with Lucy for around 6 months now at Storm Fitness. Before starting I had never enjoyed or stuck to an exercise plan and had never tried strength training. Lucy has made me feel really comfortable and has helped me build up my confidence in the gym and I have actually started to enjoy exercise! I'm really impressed with my progress so far and I'm feeling a lot stronger! The workouts are really varied, fun and I'm learning a lot through them. Lucy is very knowledgeable, she's really encouraging and always pushes me to go further - she's a fab PT. All of the team are really friendly and the facilities at the gym are great.

Fantastic experience: Have trained with David Ball on & off over the last 15years, like a boomerang I always come back! He’s such a great trainer and not only do I really enjoy the sessions but he always helps me meet my goals at that point in time - whether that’s training for specific events like triathlons or Tough Mudder, getting back into fitness after pregnancy or (now) staving off middle age emerging aches and pains! Couldn’t recommend him & the whole Storm set up highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I started with Louise after I was recommended by my dad because of problems with hyper-mobility. From being young my joints have always caused me problems resulting in many dislocations during sport and every day activities. Not only has this been a problem, I have also suffered from issues around body image and weight which Louise has helped me with massively. My major fear around starting to train and strengthen was bulking; I have been training since June now and I feel stronger than I ever have and the happiest I have ever been in regards to my image. Louise isn’t just a personal trainer she motivates you to push yourself and train harder each time whilst also having many conversations about body image and helping push past my fears. Fantastic experience: I have been working with Louise for the past year and she is fantastic! I came to her after an ACL reconstruction surgery. Prior to injury I had been training at a high level in multiple sports. I came to her unmotivated and stuck in the same routine where I wasn’t seeing improvements and not able to get back to sport. Louise has been able to motivate me at every session and focus quickly on areas of weakness that has been stunting my development. She is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The training plan is always very varied but she can adapt the plan easily and quickly if an injury has cropped up. She has helped me develop my technique in RDLs, bench press and has improved my back and glute activation greatly (areas that I could never activate properly before). She has helped me develop my training outside of Storm with variety of movements. I have been able to return to gymnastics and CrossFit since seeing her and am able to return at almost full fitness. I thoroughly enjoy my sessions with Louise and would highly recommend her for anyone, beginners or high performance athletes!
Fantastic experience: I have been trying at storm for 7 years. My first introduction with Storm was when I just turned 50 and having never been into a gym and feeling unhappy with my fitness and physic decided to enrol in 10 session- here I am 7 years later and can officially state I am a gym bunny! In all my 7 years at Storm I have never heard a trainer shouting at a client- I like the quiet encouragement, in depth knowledge of my fitness needs coupled with humour and a challenging programme which is within my remit. Fantastic experience: I have trained with Lome at Storm over the summer and autumn to put myself in the best position to play representative mens rugby. Of all the strength coaches I’ve worked with Lome is second to none. Lome offers expert training when you’re with him and he is always on hand for advice. Part way through my time with Lone I picked up a serious injury and he adapted all my training so I lost very little strength/ fitness and he even recommended an amazing physio who together kept me motivated and on track to playing with a few months. The facilities at storm are also top notch. There is a really friendly atmosphere with a real ethic of hard work and determination. Lome is an amazing guy and takes a genuine interest in you and your goals. I can say that working with Lome has improved my game and has supported me to achieve what I set out to do. I unfortunately had to move away so could no longer train with Lome 1:1 but would certainly have continued if I could. I would recommend him to anyone, not just athletes as I will take the lessons I’ve learnt with him into my training to hopefully push for more. Thanks Lome!
Fantastic experience: I've been training with Louise at Storm since August 2020. I can't rate her highly enough - in that time I feel like I've learnt a lot and have achieved all the goals I've set myself. I've had gym memberships in the past and struggled with motivation and not knowing what to do with the equipment. This is not a problem at Storm - Louise designs interesting programs which help keep me motivated and explains everything very clearly. Some of my training had to move online during the COVID pandemic and she was able to adapt programs so we could train over Zoom - which was really valuable. She is an excellent personal trainer and I would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I've been training here for over a year but had some time off following a bad accident. All through lockdown Louise offered outdoor sessions or Zoom training which was fantastic to keep me motivated. Since coming back after my accident we have focused on rehab, building strength and mobility but the biggest difference has been in my confidence levels which were at rock bottom. I feel stronger and fitter and couldn't have got there without the support from Louise and the Storm team. The facilities are great and you can tell by the mix of people that it's very inclusive. Looking forward to another year!

Fantastic experience: Storm Fitness is the top gym facility in the North East Lome Faatau is an inspirational personal trainer with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I train with my daughter who is a British Ski Team athlete and has been rehabilitating from a serious knee injury. Lome was positive and encouraging from the outset and has nurtured her back to full strength even through remote sessions during COVID lockdown. I would not hesitate to recommend Storm Fitness.
Fantastic experience: My 16 year old son has gained so much from training with Lome at Storm. Prior to these sessions he had no real resistance training knowledge and wanted to improve his strength and speed on the football pitch. In a short space of time Lome gave him confidence in the gym, and really improved his strength and physical presence. I never thought I would see him so happy to get out of bed before 7am! Fantastic experience: I first started training with David back in 2012 having done very little, if any, strength training. I’ve always ‘exercised’ but my relationship with food and exercise had always been quite negative. David really helped to reshape how I viewed exercise and the foods I ate and really educated me on nutrition and what I was able to achieve. I’ve trained with David on and off for over 9 years through some big life events and difficult times and without the consistency of training and having David’s support I am very certain things would have gone very differently and I’d have struggled to get through some tough times. Over the years my goals have changed and my love for exercise has grown, exercising is no longer a punishment but definitely something I do for me, for my health and definitely mental health. I’ve gone from the initial goal of losing weight and getting healthier to now being able to run (and enjoy) trail running, races and regularly strength training (still chasing that elusive unassisted pull up!) I’ve always felt super comfortable with David and he’s adapted to how I am feeling day to day and listens to what I want to achieve. Having a young child means sometimes training is on hardly any slept and just showing up, getting it done and having an hour for myself rather than focusing on PBs! Without hesitation I would recommend David to anyone thinking of starting their fitness journey, getting back into fitness, looking for some me time or improving their current fitness! He’s your man!

Fantastic experience: For a trial of something new, myself and a friend spent two months working with Lome at Storm fitness. The sessions were a key feature of our weeks, and we looked forward to and relished the time at Storm. Even in that short amount of time, I found myself feeling stronger and more confident, both in the gym and out, I also stand a good inch taller! Lome is a wonderful trainer, encouraging but not aggressive, aware of your limits and always open to your concerns. I felt very safe lifting knowing that he was watching and would make changes to my form where needed. The gym itself is spacious and open, a more welcoming environment than other gyms I've tried. And even when it was busy it did not feel crowded or overwhelming. Everybody there was friendly and welcoming. A massive thank you to Lome, if I wasn't leaving Newcastle I would definitely be continuing the sessions!

Fantastic experience: I was advised to go to Louise after a long period of physiotherapy rehab following a dislocated shoulder. I had recovered as well as I could and was told I needed strengthening. There was plenty of options for one to one training but I’m so glad that Storm Fitness became my first choice. Although I am not new to training, I was previously using an online coach and I have noticed a great improvement in my form & progress since going back to 1:1 training sessions. Fantastic experience: First experience of a PT. I initially intended to buy one block of sessions to kick start my training and then continue on my own. I very quickly learned that the benefit and value of having Ted as my trainer went way beyond a training program. That was in 2018 and I've continued with Storm since. No BS, tailored training in awesome facilities with your own rack and all the equipment you'd need.
Fantastic experience: I began training at Storm following a spinal injury almost 5 years ago. After coming to the end of my NHS rehab I was on the look out for a PT who could help me work through a long and complex recovery and a gym that would provide the right environment to focus. I found both after a fellow runner recommended Ted at Storm. The gym itself is smart and clean with a private feel to it. The trainers are friendly, approachable and very professional. I had concerns about training in a typical ‘gym’ - following my injury I could barely walk let alone think about using some of the equipment in there! But I needn’t have worried, Ted made me feel very comfortable with the level I was at, and the other clients were kind and welcoming. I’ve trained with Ted for 4 years - he has structured sessions and adjusted goals as I’ve slowly gained strength and confidence. He took me from the simple aim of safely lifting my son up for a cuddle to doing push ups on the floor at 30 weeks pregnant! I’ve trained in gyms in the past - but Storm is truly different. I’ve honestly never felt stronger or healthier in both mind and body. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone, whether they’re looking to increase fitness, get in shape or rehabilitate an injury.
