Fantastic experience: I would thoroughly recommend Anne & John as Personal Trainers, for me they have been fantastic. Very professional, enthusiastic, motivational and super-friendly. It's not just about working out, they help enormously with great nutritional and healthy living guidance, and, best of all, everything they do is tailored specifically to you, your levels of fitness, age, medical considerations, and exactly what you want to achieve, so you are always working towards your own personal goals. Having trained with them for about 6 months I feel so much fitter, stronger, and I've lost some weight. I look forward to their sessions as they are always varied and fresh, nothing feels repetitive. Fantastic experience: Anne is a star! I recently completed a 10 week one-on-one training with her at her cozy home gym studio , and it has been an incredible experience. Returning to the gym after 20 years (oh yes!) , I was initially anxious. However, from the start Anne immediately put me at ease. She understood my unique needs and designed sessions that were both challenging and safe. Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been training with John Barfoot at Anne Davidson Fitness for several months. At first we were apprehensive as we have never had personal training before and had not done any exercise for over 20 years but from our first induction, we felt very much at ease. The training environment has been perfect for us both. We always enjoy the sessions, they are hard work but good fun, with excellent equipment and facilities - and John is the perfect balance of kind and considerate whilst also pushing us on when we need it. The sessions have been so helpful in tackling not just our nutrition and exercise regimes, they have spurred us on to make further improvements in other aspects of mental health and wellbeing. Fantastic experience: Anne was recommended to me by someone who has been personally trained by her for many years. I have been going for several months now and the training plans and attention to detail have been amazing. Anne makes sure that you have a training plan that is utterly bespoke for you. And she plans her weekly sessions so they do not become dull or follow the same exercises time after time. Anne pushes you to do better and to work hard, but she also has empathy and positivity in spades, so if you are struggling one week, you do not feel a failure. Anne also provides homework sessions that complement the weekly work outs. As someone who has flirted with gyms many times, I feel at home with Anne (and John), well away from the preening and posing found in some of the larger gyms I’ve been to in the past, and not having the feeling that I am not good enough or do not fit in. Fantastic experience: Massively recommend Anne Davidson Fitness - it's so much better than having PT in your local gym! I've been working with John for over a year - initially to get in shape for my wedding, but have got totally addicted to feeling great and so have continued 6 months after my wedding. Both Anne and John are super friendly, really listen to you about what you want to achieve, and design workouts that are different every time so you can't get bored. They are also super flexible with diaries, which is really useful if yours changes week to week.

She has a very non-judgemental and positive attitude, praising small achievements (even just turning up). She takes account of my physical limitations in the programme. Fantastic experience: We have been training with John for about a year and it has made a huge difference in our lives. We had different fitness goals which John worked with us on in the same session. One of us had rugby goals and John helped to meet them over and over again. Even when injured from a rugby game briefly, John had no issue adjusting the session and assisting with recovery. We also had strength and lifting goals that were again met and exceeded, initially coming from a place of minimal lifting knowledge. We would have stayed training with John but we are moving across the country. John always welcomes you with the biggest smile and has so much enthusiasm its impossible not to end the session with a smile on your face.

Fantastic experience: I have to pat on my back myself to google and find Anne. Its the best thing I did for my fitness. They have private studios with all the equipments. You got privacy and so you are not overwhelmed by others doing big weights in the classic gym. Plus there is a lot of free parking around! From Day1, I have felt very comfortable with Anne. She is very friendly, but at the same time, she knows how to push you to get the results. Anne and John are very flexible with 24hrs cancellation notice and they do customised workout for every individual based on their conditions and preferences. I have been recently training with John and enjoying my sessions. I am looking forward to each of my session. I have got much fitter since I joined. I get a lot of adaptations and customisation based on my current problems/priorities. John also knows how to push without making it very hard. He always finds an alternative/easier/modified version of an exercise to make it harder/easier. Anne and John are very funny, they connect with you more on the conversations and make things better. I have always had a good workout with them and felt they understand your physical and mental states very well. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone who wants to get fitter.
Fantastic experience: Anne is brilliant. She understood my needs for my fitness progress and what goals I needed to achieve. I'm a very active person but was not doing the right work outs for my stage of life. Fantastic experience: I suffered a stroke just over 12 months ago. I recovered sufficiently to return to work but I experienced residual symptoms. I sought the expertise of Anne Davidson and her colleague John Barfoot to improve my fitness level, health and wellbeing. In 22 sessions I have improved my daily nutritional intake losing 11 pounds in weight, my fitness level has improved and my physical health has improved. I have found Anne and John to be consummate professionals. They are polite, punctual, intelligent, determined to help clients succeed and conscientious. Anne and John can always be relied upon to help you achieve your goals. Anne and John display an enthusiasm in supporting their clients. Both have many commendable qualities and I have no hesitation in recommending their services to others. I plan to continue using Anne Davidson Fitness for a further 22 sessions.
Fantastic experience: My sister and I have been working with John for the past 2 months now and are already seeing results in our fitness levels, measurements and weight. Most importantly we love our PT sessions! We have fun for the whole hour and working out is no longer a chore. I would have never said I was someone who would get a personal trainer or be a "gym" person and I was quite hesitant to even reach out for an initial consultation. But as soon as I met John he put me at ease and reassured me that we would be able to get some great results together. Having the privacy of the small at-home gym studio removes any barriers about having imposter syndrome, or being worried other people are looking/judging you and your form or progress. I have since gained a lot more confidence now, and have even ventured into public gyms to show off my new skills (and strength). The goals we are set are incremental and feel achievable, making it easier for us to keep up the hard work. John is great at adjusting as we go based on our progress. He ensures that each of our plans is tailored to our goals and fitness abilities also - there isn't a "one size fit all" approach here! Being able to bring along a friend for free is such a great deal, and I love being able to work out with my sister to encourage each other. TLDR: You won't regret signing up to work with John!
Fantastic experience: John has been mine and my sister's trainer for about 2 months now and we couldn't be happier. He pushes us to be stronger and fitter while keeping the exercises interesting. Fantastic experience: Amazing personal training! I wasn’t sure what to expect from personal training but both Anne and John are excellent at motivating you to reach your goals and celebrating your success. I wanted to build upper body strength and regain fitness lost over the last few years but wasn’t thrilled at figuring it out alone at the gym. I turned to Anne for help, starting with a health assessment and discussion of my fitness goals. After 18 PT sessions (plus an easy to follow personalised home programme) the difference in my strength, core, and stability is pretty amazing. There’s no way I would have achieved as much without Anne and John’s training and support.

Fantastic experience: John has been my PT for the past few months and I honestly can’t recommend him highly enough. He is friendly, motivating and pushes me to the best of my ability. The workouts that John puts together are fun, engaging and challenging and I love that they are so varied, with each session being so different. Fantastic experience: My wife had the excellent idea of booking joint excercise sessions with Anne, and I am very pleased with how it is going. I fit into my DJ better than last Christmas, am using a shorter belt on my trousers, and can climb flights of stairs without getting so out of breath. Empirical evidence of improvement! Anne's sessions are highly tailored to the individual and their capabilities (I have various health issues), take a holistic approach (watch what you eat as well as excersising ) and are better suited to my needs than just being let loose in a gym. OK, there'd be even greater improvement if I did more excersise at home too, but small steps! Anne is enthusiastic, very encouraging, and I would have no hesitancy in recommending her to others - even (/especially) if you've not stepped into a gym for 30+years!

Fantastic experience: John has been (and continues to be) an amazing personal trainer! I started training with him 6 months after having my 2nd baby and I'm amazed already at the difference I'm seeing in my general fitness, increased muscle strength and weight loss. After having 2 kids back to back, my physical health and nutrition took a back seat for a while but John has kept me motivated throughout all my sessions and has pushed me to my limit each time. The workout routine is always different and has been tailored to my changing fitness goals and abilities postpartum. Fantastic experience: Anne has been fantastic. She is highly motivational in her coaching and is very approachable, positive and full of encouragement. Always pushing me to achieve personal bests! Fantastic experience: Anne is a wonderful person and a fabulous PT. When I first started seeing Anne after an injury, I was walking with a stick and had very little strength in one hip. After a few sessions I could feel improvements and now I'm getting back to normal and the stick is a thing of the past. Cant recommend her enough and she makes every training session fun and enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: My wife & I started with Anne in the summer; we're now at session 10 and both delighted with the progress. We have different needs and targets, but Anne has managed to devise programmes which allow us to train together and enjoy a sense of combined achievement. We have both strengthened our core, lost weight, gained fitness and enjoyed higher energy levels. Anne's facilities are excellent too and she provides a full hour's exercise with cooldown & stretching built in. We are in good hands. Fantastic experience: I recently started training with Anne and I already feel there is an improvement in my body. I feel much stronger and have more definition. Anne prepares every session and makes not only suitable but challanging at the same time. Anne provides me with motivation and encourages me throught the session. Fantastic experience: The lockdown was terrible for me personally. I had let myself go completely and my fitness was at an all time low. Joining Personal Training with Anne was life changing for me. I have been going to her for just over a month and I feel like a new person. She is an extremely positive person and her energy is infectious. She knows exactly when to push me harder and when to tell me to slow down - and helps me create new personal bests to the best of my capacity. Being a mom with a full time job there are days I am more exhausted than others and she knows how to tailor the workouts based on my energy levels. Fantastic experience: I have back pains and was referred to Anne from my Osteopath. Anne prepared a personalized set of exercises for me to increase my flexibility and assist in the reduction of pressure on the part of my back that was in pain. Fantastic experience: I don't know where to start! Anne is FUNtastic! She takes her time to carefully coordinate a workout plan that is tailored towards your lifestyle, career and goals. She is also a physiotherapist so wherever I was aching she would show me exercises to do at home. She is extremely knowledgeable and educated me on the importance of nutrition. I'll admit I was very nervous to get back into fitness, but Anne helped me build my self confidence. During these tough times she has been so understanding and I'm really grateful. Fantastic experience: I have been helping a senior gentleman to attend his rehabilitation therapy with Anne. The results he has been able to achieve with Anne's guidance are amazing - his mobility and balance have improved so much that he is now able to walk without any stick (whereas he used to need two walking sticks before that!). Fantastic experience: I've been training with Anne for almost 6 months now and the benefits are countless. The brief was to improve my core [or rather find it] and improve buttock strength, both of which are improving weekly. However the benefits are so much more. I stand better, I have more energy and sleeping [despite the menopause] has almost returned to my 8 hours normal. There's something very good for the soul in handing over an hour to someone when you don't have to think, yet you're getting stronger, fitter and having a right laugh to boot!

Fantastic experience: I did the Nuts Challenge 7th March and completed all the obstacles! Anne's training on my upper body strength was hugely important to get around the course. It was tough though, unbelievably cold and wet. Still....I feel good for doing it and with many thanks to Anne for all her encouragement and skills in my training.
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Anne for just over 2 months now and I am so glad I contacted her! Just from the initial phone call I felt at ease with her and not intimidated at all, I was so excited to start training with her straight away. I was extremely unfit when I first started and I was struggling to find time to prioritise exercise. She motivated me to prioritise my health and fitness, educated me about both exercise and food and encouraged me to change my day to day routine from being very inactive to trying to be active whenever I can. There is so much variety in each session, the hour really does fly by and it is genuinely enjoyable - given that I never enjoyed exercise that’s a very big change for me! I look forward to each session with her, she is always encouraging and pushes me just the right amount to make progress without being too much. She is full of positivity, always accommodating to my schedule and a genuinely kind and caring person. She celebrates all your progress with you, no matter how small it is even if it’s running that tiny bit longer and it’s so encouraging! I cannot recommend Anne enough, I feel extremely lucky to have found her!

She is a great motivator and the sessions are always varied and enjoyable. Since starting around 3 months ago I feel so much healthier and fitter and have lost a stone in that time. Fantastic experience: I've been exercising with Anne once a week for around three months, and I'm already feeling fitter, and much more positive about exercise. I hadn't done any exercise for a long time when I started, and I hired Anne because I just couldn't motivate myself to do anything. That's now changed: I now enjoy exercising at home by myself between sessions. I really enjoy the sessions because they are fast-paced, and a fun combination of cardio and strength training. Anne has a great range of equipment, and I've really enjoyed trying out different things. I like the fact that the sessions are very well structured, and organised. Everything is noted down to ensure I make steady progress. Anne pushes me to just the right extent: I feel challenged, but not tortured! She's also a friendly person who is nice to be around. However fit or unfit you are, she will tailor the sessions to your level, and get you making progress in a comfortable, safe, sustainable way. It is a real treat to have access to your own gym, and the full attention of an encouraging expert. I always feel happy and positive after the sessions!
Fantastic experience: As someone who much prefers playing sport to keep fit opposed to going to the gym and lifting weights, working with a personal trainer/fitness instructor has its advantages; a tailored regime, privacy, dedicated attention and tuition, access to all the gym machinery during your session with no waiting around. Allowing couples or other family members to attend and participate is a welcome idea. Instead of people carrying out their own separate fitness regime, it is shared time, something done together. You also have someone to carry / drag you home should you have worked really hard! Finding a personal trainer/fitness instructor who was local to my home was a requirement and Anne is a real find. She makes working in a gym environment enjoyable even when she is pushing you to achieve a new goal. My once a week hourly session has become ‘the norm’ for me now. I would gladly recommend her.
Fantastic experience: I started with Anne in September as I was wanting to feel fit and toned for my wedding at the end of December. I can safely say that the brief has been met! Last week was my first dress fitting and comments of ‘wow’ from all but, most importantly from myself has more than proved my progress. I have more energy and am generally more motivated to concentrate on my needs and health rather than my work all the time. And comments from my mum and future mother-in-law about my bum looking ‘pert’ is the cherry on top! Anne has helped me find the best sort of workout for me (certainly knows how to take me to my limits!!) and in turn I am respecting my body and health again. Fantastic experience: My wife and I had both stopped exercising over the past few years and were struggling to get back into the routine. We thankfully found Anne. She has been great at motivating us to get back into exercise. The sessions are always tough but enjoyable and we leave feeling energised. We have been going for a couple of months and we both feel fitter and healthier. Highly recommended if you need a PT to motivate you and give you good advice on what you should be doing to achieve your goals.
Fantastic experience: I contacted Anne to see if she could help me with my goal of toning up and increasing my general fitness. As someone who is not overly keen on going to the gym I thought personal training might be the better option for me. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The sessions with Anne fly by as she moves me from one exercise to another. She motivates me to achieve more each session and already after a couple of months I can see the physical change and notice the increased stamina and general feeling of wellbeing. My husband has joined me in working with Anne and he too is enjoying the sessions and welcomes the fact that Anne has tailored a session for him that allows him to achieve his goals whilst allowing for his current restrictions. Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Anne if you are looking for a personal trainer. I needed help to refocus my exercise after a break from running and the gym following some pain and discomfort. Anne has supported my exercise journey to focus on strength and introduced me to exercises I would not have previously thought of doing and that I am enjoying. Even after a long day at work, with the dark nights drawing in, I know I will always feel better both physically and mentally after my session with Anne!

Fantastic experience: I was diagnosed with COPD in January and started training with Anne in April. I was very apprehensive as I haven't trained consistently for over 15 years and dreaded my first lesson. My goal is to lose 4 stone and I have lost around a stone in just over a month. my breathing is improving all the time and I feel 10 years younger already. Anne is not like your average personal trainer. She cares about everything, from your diet to your lifestyle. Anne also cares about any underlying issues and pushes you as far as possible without causing any risk. I thought I would dread my sessions but I cant wait. Even when I reach my goal I will continue to see Anne as I think she has brought a focus for health and fitness that I didn't think I would ever have. I have told everyone I know about how good she is and I would highly recommend her no matter what shape you are in.

Fantastic experience: I approached Anne for a programme of personal training following two episodes of cauda equina and back surgery that resulted in left side weakness, nerve damage and an associated series of falls. Anne was immediately welcoming and helpful. She designed a carefully tailored series of exercises for me to follow at home in addition to our sessions together in her gym. The programme has been excellent. Over 5 weeks there has been a great improvement in my balance and left side strength – commented on by the physiotherapist. I am now much more confident using public transport and have started to return to sport again with family and friends. Sessions are always well planned, set up to maximise the use of your time and great fun too! Anne is warm, encouraging and really committed to helping you improve. During training she watches very carefully, helpfully correcting your positioning whenever needed. She is easily able to adapt exercises to meet individual need and provides helpful nutrition and lifestyle advice too. I’m so pleased with the significant progress I have noticed in a relatively short time. I would thoroughly recommend Anne.

Fantastic experience: Fitness Training and Sports Massage. Anne is one the best around and has been instrumental in getting my fitness back following a serious health issue in late 2017. More than that Anne frequently gives me a sports massage as I have ongoing issues eminating from old sporting injuries. Fantastic experience: Anne is very professional and gives 100% during the one hour training session. She has a well-equipped home gym but her individual, personalised exercise plan also includes things you can do at home, using fitball, weights and stretch bands. Fantastic experience: I'm making lots of changes to my life at the moment - including my fitness habits, as I negotiate the ‘wonders’ of perimenopause. Anne is an incredibly warm, wise and encouraging presence in the midst of all the turbulence. I love the way she tailors each session to accommodate exactly how I’m feeling; when I’m full of energy, she pushes me to my max and when I'm hormonal/ feeling wiped out, she sets a gentler workout that leaves me refreshed & uplifted. Fantastic experience: I was never a fit person, or one who particularly enjoyed exercise, but six months of chemotherapy at age 52 plunged me into an all time fitness low, which I was struggling to escape. In desperation I contacted Anne, who was first rate from the off. I am especially appreciative of the careful heart monitoring that Anne employs: it has taken away that anxiety and there is just enough 'push' to make you feel you are making a decent effort, but not so much to feel out of control. I have enjoyed the sessions right from the start (despite the groaning!) - and am sometimes joined by my teenage kids, which adds a 'family' element to the whole thing. I signed up for the 22 sessions. Half way through (2 x per week) - and have noticed significant changes in body shape, stamina and weight loss already. Fantastic experience: I am a busy working mum of two, juggling life, my two young kids and a demanding job. I struggled to strike a balance, often my physical wellbeing and fitness received the least attention. I turned to personal training so I can re-discover fitness, lose weight and feel good about myself. I am very glad I found Anne because she understands deeply, experienced in what she does and works with you at just the right level to push you forward.
