Fantastic experience: Lucie Ferková was fantastic. Here's a snippet of the final email which I sent to her: "...Yes, yes, and yes!!! Yes – I can confirm receipt of the test results. Lillie and her mum were surprised to learn about suspected wheat, marginal dairy, and garlic intolerance (amongst the others), so no more tagliatelle carbonara for her, etc! She’s gutted ☹ Yes – you and Lifelab testing have been fantastic through all this. To be honest, I pin the blame for the 2nd lost package on Royal Mail (for example, they still haven’t delivered a motorbike repair kit I ordered in early September, which was dispatched on 21st September)! Yes – I’m very, very, very happy with your customer service: 1. You acknowledged the problem. 2. You worked with me to engineer a perfect solution under challenging circumstances. 3. You facilitated the expeditious execution of the negotiated remedy to a wicked problem. 4. You have maintained the task by contacting me at all points in a timely manner. 5. Negative experience: Having to now demand a refund due to them not sending out all the kit needed. Then second time only sending a part of it and then not sending at all! Been chasing it for a couple of weeks now and keep getting fobbed off saying my order will be listed as "priority" and that I will receive new shipping details. Hasn't happened! One stars due to the live chat advisors being polite, however one had the cheek to ask me to remove the thumbs down to the chat when I got sent the same copy and paste message about requesting a refund , even though I said I had already done this. Apparently affects their monthly rating!! Won't be using and once I finally get my money back, will be going elsewhere.

Negative experience: If you are looking to see if you are intolerant to certain foods, this wont help. When I eat bread, I bloat and get trapped wind, it creates pain in stomach, when I cut it out I am not bloated. I am clearly intolerant to it, and want to see what else I was intolerant to. The £149.00 test stated that I had no intolerances to any grain - its just plain wrong. It stated out of all foods the only one I had an intolerance to was Brazil Nuts, again wrong, I can eat those with no adverse side effects at-all If I didn't know better I would suspect that they sent the wrong results back. Please in todays day and age do not waste £149.00

Based on your symptoms, stomach pain is a very common symptom of Coeliac Disease and is not generally considered an intolerance symptom. Pain occurs as part of Coeliac Disease due to the inflammation and damage to the gut when consuming gluten.
Our tests are designed to identify intolerance and cannot identify Coeliac Disease as this is not an intolerance but rather an autoimmune disease.
We recommend speaking with your doctor about Coeliac testing based on your pain symptoms to rule this out.

Upon investigating your concerns, we can see the testing was completed without error and therefore does not qualify for a refund, as per our terms and conditions agreed to at the time of purchase.
However, our team have reached out on a number of occasions to book you in with our nutritional therapists to help explain your results and help you get the most from your report. Unfortunately, we can see you have declined this offer.
From the correspondence with the team, at no point has any member of Lifelab made accusations of your NHS tests being untruthful. However, the information you have provided regarding your NHS testing is for allergy testing rather than the intolerances you have queried with the team. The NHS do not currently offer blood intolerance tests.

Negative experience: To any lovely people hoping that lifelab will help, please don't waste your money. I paid for the complete test. My results were complete nonsense directly contracting allergies I already had, confirmed by NHS. E.g. I'm allergic to cats as confirmed by an NHS test years ago. This showed negative with lifelab. I'm not allergic to dairy as confirmed by NHS test previously. Lifelab results showed I was allergic to dairy and almost everything else listed on the test. Misleading advertising leads you to believe this test could really make a difference with no mention or statistics about the extremely poor reliability of the test. Half an hour consultation with a supposed expert nutritionist led me further up the garden path. She said things like: It's highly unlikely you're allergic to everything that showed up. Did you eat an orange just before the test? That might be why it showed up. Lots of people are allergic to eggs, so you should avoid eggs. Maybe try an elimination diet. Asked for a refund via email weeks ago. Unsurprisingly I haven't heard anything back.

Our nutritional therapist has advised you may not be allergic to all items in the report – this is partially due to cross-reactivity (cross-reactivity occurs where the proteins in one food or substance share characteristics with those in another food or substance. A person who is allergic to one may therefore have positive allergy tests to other foods with similar proteins), but also in your review you mention oranges – your report does list oranges in the intolerance section of the report. Intolerances (IgG) are very dependent on memory and therefore more likely to report back a reaction if consumed in the last 3 months. However, it is worth noting these are not allergies.

Negative experience: THIS IS A SCAM! Please don't waste your money. These tests are bogus & results are complete nonsense. Please read all the reviews - the positive reviews are all paid reviews in my opinion - the negative reviews are all honest from real people. I paid £139 for the full intolerance test and similar to many reviews my results made no sense at all. My results said i was highly - dangerously intolerant to certain foods i consume on a daily basis with no issues - i am left completely baffled by the outcome of this test. I contacted the company to complain the results were completely inaccurate and below is what one of their lab technicians wrote back to me: "I would like to highlight the fact that our tests are semiquantitative tests and can’t be use to diagnose allergy or intolerances. We are really clear about the fact that our test results are the starting of your journey to find a better version of yourself! Keeping this in mind we can’t offer any quick solution and our tests can’t be used as a diagnostic tool, without a further investigation from your GP or Allergist." If the above is the case then why waste our money? Their online marketing is very good, they claim the above but they also claim to test for intolerance & identify allergies to help people - if you can't even carry out basic tests correctly then how will you help people? This is FALSE ADVERTISING. I will report them to advertising standards and to the Office of Fair Trading. They were also very difficult to deal with as my results were never made available to me - the online day by day update tool is a lie - they never update their systems they said it was a glitch in their systems something about their computers not being able to send results automatically to the customers account. So after chasing 3 times by phone and 2 by emails i finalle got my report only tk find it was an incomplete report. I had to contact them again amd again to get the full report which was utter rubbish and a complete waste of my time. I wish i had gone to a proper clinic. I fully regret using this Mickey mouse company. They ripped me off. Please don't fall into the same trap. Mrs K London

Positive experience: My results came back quickly although I expected to be notified that they are already in my account. I had to check by emailing the office. I was confused with my moderate - high allergic response to 33 out of 40 tested foods / pollens. This was summarised at the top page by a red exclamation mark, a sign for danger. Should I stop eating all these 33 foods? There were no indications of what the normal levels are, no scale either (except that 100 is high sensitisation). I had to search online to find more details about the scale. To supply such information with the results would be very helpful. It would also be very useful to test the overall IgE level as well as those 40 specific ones. This would be just a simple addition to the IgE testing. It was only after discussing the results with the nutritionist, that I got a better picture of what these results mean and how they may be relevant to my issues. Ms Maria M. Griffiths was very well informed. She understood my questions and answered to the point in a very friendly way.

Fantastic experience: I found the whole experience to have excellent customer service - very smooth to take the test, get and interpret the results, arrange an appointment, and get a comprehensive set of actions to take to address your particular issues. I can't comment on the underpinning science or the effect of the food elimination diet yet, but fingers crossed! Let's see what the results are in a few months.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. Sent bloods twice and showed them proof of them signing for it and they STILL said they never recieved it. Awful awful rigmarole of being passed about between people and waiting literally a week for a reply with a customer service agent called Donna. Having jumped through hoops and wanting a refund, I’ve now been told I have to wait upto 30 days due to “operating with a skeleton staff during the pandemic to keep our staff and their families safe”. Absolute generic reply if ever I heard one. Avoid.

Negative experience: I ordered a complete body test for my young son, I was told at the time that his details would be on the test even though it was purchased through my account. His details were written on all order forms and test paper work. However the results have my name on them, I contacted customer service by phone, live chat and ongoing email generated by live chat. This has gone on for about a month and I keep saying the same thing, I need my sons name on the test results. We are using them to move forward to help him but the first hurdle is that it has the wrong name on the results. I've been told it will be sorted but it just isn't going anywhere. Customer service is awful. I would no longer recommend this company due to the rubbish after sales "support"

Thanks for reaching out Neil. As it does explain on the activation page, a new account is needed for each person who is activating their results, so an account would be needed for your son.

For GDPR reasons, and due to people getting regular testing, the results are locked to the activation code you were provided, and the name is of the person who puts their details in. We do not store ANYTHING on names in the lab, (again, for GDPR) so the results are branded to the name you choose.

As explained on the chat, we can change the name to your son's name if you'd prefer, just let us know. However the results are from the blood sample sent, not from yourself.

Negative experience: Awful awful customer service online, the online support can offer no help for seemingly any issue, and when you call, nobody gets back to you. Ordered 2 test kits, only 1 arrived, obviously the online help could not assist with such a simple problem. Both kits were submitted, but had to call to chase before they processed my wifes, mine is still missing. Stay clear of this company.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with my Lifelab Testing kit, it arrived quickly and I followed the help video on youtube to ensure I got enough blood out. There was a delay getting the sample back to the lab with the freepost envelope, but it's December and there is a global pandemic so that's to be understood! I also purchased the additional nutritionalist appointment and glad I did, I've got a full diet plan to follow now and already feel better.

Fantastic experience: I purchased the full test for allergy and intolerances, the required blood sample is small, very small but I still had a few issues taking it, could be down to me. Anyway the results were fascinating and changed how I look at myself, however the best part of this was the included follow up with Maria M. Griffiths Registered Nutritional Practitioner, she provided a huge insight into the results and even provided a personally tailored plan for me going forward. In all, really good and already seeing results!

Fantastic experience: My wife purchased me a test after I had a reaction from eating something. The test was easy to do, straight forward and the results were clear and easy to understand. It did highlight some foods I eat regularly as having either an allergy or intolerance to. The 30 minute consultation with Nutritional Practitioner, Maria M. Griffiths was most interesting; I thought the conversation was just going to be about diet, however Maria went through my results and explained everything very clearly. I got a lot of information from my test and Maria and now have a better understanding of how my body is reacting to the foods I eat and allergies in general. Would recommend. Thank you.

Negative experience: They deleted 2 of my comments on Facebook when I asked a genuine question, then blocked my ability to leave any more comments. Don't bother with this rip off company, use intolerancelab instead, they are £170 cheaper and test for hundreds more intolerances. UPDATE AFTER LIFELABS REPLY: I used the live chat who did not know the answer to my questions. They have instead given me an email address, let's hope someone can finally help. I would also like to point out that my previous comments on Facebook did not advertise another company unlike my review on here. Now for the "debunked science". All intolerance tests (including the very test lifelab offer) are advised against by the NHS and specialists, including Dr Adam Fox, an allergy specialist from Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital he says and I quote; "Having a positive IgG result to certain foods does not indicate that you have an ‘intolerance’ to those foods. The advice from expert groups around the world is that IgG tests should not be used as an attempt to diagnose an intolerance" Update number 2: I have recieved a reply from my email and lifelabs have refused to answer my questions unless I remove this review. I will not be removing this review and now strongly advise against this dishonest company who think they can bribe people into removing honest feedback and experiences. What an absolute shambles of a company.

Hi Chris, we only delete comments when they appear to be advertising other companies, like this review is.

The other company you mention uses a pseudoscience to guess which intolerances you may have from a piece of hair. This is a completely debunked science. Lifelab Testing uses blood sample, for IgG antibodies which is required to identify immune-mediated intolerances. Unlike that company, we also test for allergies, which is a type I hypersensitivity meaning that exposure to an allergen results in the production of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies, the release of histamine and symptoms. Unfortunately you are not comparing two similar products or services.

However we have checked our accounts and can find nothing from you. If you do have a genuine question and are not trying to advertise another company, we're also one of the few companies offering 24/7 LiveChat. Please come and speak to us.

Fantastic experience: After a little bit of confusion at the beginning with regard to Lifelab receiving my sample, I can say that the service I received today was fantastic. I have also received my results back today too which I didn't expect to get back so quickly. The results pretty much confirmed what I thought was causing me issues plus a few extra things that I was not aware of. Fantastic experience: Amazing! I took the Complete Body test and sent back to the lab as soon as I could. After sending my sample off, It took only a matter of days to get my results sent back to me. Fantastic experience: Took this test after a recommendation from a family member. Struggled with bloating and stomach issues for years. The test revealed wheat, rye, spelt and tomatoes were big trigger items for me. After speaking to their nutritional therapists I've been able to cut these out of my diet and now I'm feeling so much better!

Negative experience: Would give this zero stars if I could. My results could not have been more inaccurate. Apparently I am not allergic to animal hair when I know full well I am and react badly to it. Having complained I have been fobbed off and told to see a medical professional. This is an utter waste of money and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

We cannot go into the details of your results publicly, however we can explain how our testing works. Our tests are also sold in good faith and adhere strictly to our terms and conditions. We state that we test for raised IgE where allergies are concerned, which the items you are referring to, and that through vigorous testing have a repeatability rate of our results of 99.8% of results.

We stand by our test and its accuracy, especially when we have not been presented with any other formal or comparative testing of your symptoms.

The transparency of our results mean that you can take the raw data to a medical practitioner to enable you to investigate further the possible causes of your symptoms.

You should now use these results to investigate your reactions and symptoms further and discuss the possibility that these are Non-IgE mediated allergies with a medical practitioner. Detection of these allergies can often be in the form of a skin-prick test and requires medical supervision due to the risk of sudden adverse reactions.

Negative experience: Meaningless and expensive exercise - did not pick up my NHS diagnosed allergies to cat hair and house dust. When I queried this and therefore the relevance of the results, I was told that the test does not always pick up allergies and can score high for intolerances that are not too bad and low for those that are bad - where is the point of this? I got 6 red lights for salmon for both allergy and intolerance suggesting I should be very ill if I eat this. However I eat salmon regularly with absolutely no ill effects. The customer service is very poor - I spoke to the nutritionist who said things may not show up and got an email from another Life Lab employee about the process (my sample went missing for a couple of days but Life Lab processes are perfect.....). I have heard nothing from them for nearly 2 weeks since sending an email with these concerns and asking for a refund. The whole test has been pointless as I am unable to trust the results.

Negative experience: Was disappointed with these results after having one of the most expensive tests, it says I have a high allergy to hazelnuts which I eat regularly with no problem, Also says no reaction to pets which I know I’m allergic to cat fur and some dogs, and same with pollen and dust but I suffer badly with hay fever and react to dust also.

Negative experience: Frankly I think this is either a scam or they won't admit to messing up their tests. It's has to be one or the other. After buying their most expensive test it came back with the fact that I am apparently ALLERGIC (note allergic and not intolerant) to pretty much the only foods I eat regularly. It's amazing I am still alive. Complete and utter nonsense and a waste of money. Going to a private health care provider to get a proper allergy test done.

Fantastic experience: Had to opportunity to not only to take the intolerence test but also meet the wonderful team behind the product. I am very pleased with the results. I had always thought I was intolorent to coffee however it was dairy that was the main culprit. Now I can once again enjoy a warm cup of liquid gold after a 2 year hiatus!
