BLAZE Gym

Fantastic experience: Been using Blaze gym for a while now, and I can honestly not fault it. As someone who suffers with anxiety, never once have I felt anxious stepping in here, all members and staff members are lovely and everyone is happy going about their own business! I did recently have a membership issue which was completely my fault, however, I spoke with Chan face to face who was able to assist, less than 24hrs later and he had rectified this issue for me! 10/10 experience all round!

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym!! I can honestly say it’s one of the best gyms I’ve ever joined. The facilities are spotless and well-maintained, with a wide variety of top-notch equipment. The staff are so so friendly and helpful no matter the enquiry. As a family-owned gym, there’s a real sense of community and care here that you just don’t get at big chain gyms. I genuinely cannot recommend Blaze gym enough!!

Negative experience: My friend told me he got his contract terminated with no warning and the gym owners likes to listen to people private Conversations on the CCTV voice recording.

Fantastic experience: This has got to be the best gym in the area. Great equipment and great staff. It's the perfect environment for a good workout. Nice and quiet and not over packed so your not waiting around for a machine. I fully recommend using blaze gym!

I appreciate their professionalism and can't wait to rejoin and upgrade to the Blaze Self plan when I return. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Owners are complete liars. Called in a week before asking if they had day passes.. they said yes I even told them when I was coming. Turned up and suddenly they said no gym passes. Son of owner also extremely rude avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: Manager left me no choice but terminate my membership the disappointment regarding an incident involving the gym manager that has profoundly impacted my experience. As an off-peak member, I visited the gym around 3 PM, but due to work calls, I couldn't conclude my workout before 4 PM. To my surprise, the manager publicly scolded me, asking me to leave in front of other members, and subsequently terminated my membership. This unnecessary and humiliating confrontation was solely orchestrated by the manager, and their behavior made me feel incredibly unwelcome. After two years of dedicated membership, this treatment is not only disheartening but also completely unacceptable. The pricing structure for off-peak members, paying the same as new joiners minus a questionable 25% discount, raises concerns about fairness.A new member can enjoy peak membership benefits with same price but repeating member would get nothing but bad experience.

Positive experience: I agree to the comment below about the air conditioners. It’s cold. I’m a breastfeeding mum and it’s the second week I’m sneezing the next day after visiting this gym.

Fantastic experience: The best gym in this area. Parking literally next door! I’ve been referring my friends and get discounts in the app. Bigger than I thought as it’s on both floors.

Fantastic experience: I was a member here for a few years and it has always been a great place to work out. It's always clean, has a broad range of classes (the virtual classes set up is a highlight), and even though its a small gym there's always space for you.

Fantastic experience: The gym is nice and very clean. Great machines and lots of equipment. The one thing I don’t like that conditioners are always on and you can’t exercise in a T-shirt as it’s freezing cold. That’s too much for winter time.

Negative experience: If I could I would leave -1 for the customer service. This gym got long way away to go to a hive even basic of the customer service. System in place always has different issues and gentlemen who’s running the gym young and inexperienced as an individual, who’s got a long way to go to be in a managers role. I was using gym purely for the classes and I Phina the instructor is absolutely amazing and one of the best instructors I’ve came across, however I am not scoring here service of one instructor I’m scoring here for the experience I’ve had with the gym itself.

Fantastic experience: I have been pleasantly surprised, and have found Blaze to be very professional and super clean. They have created a great ambience and safe place for you to work out with confidence. Staff are very friendly and reassuring and always looking to answer any questions you have. If you like classes they have an extensive timetable, with many instructor led classes available.

Positive experience: Nice little gym which can often feel like my personal gym when it's quite but could do with a proper deep clean, quite dusty in areas and spider webs. Please be a bit more thorough and regular with the cleaning especially in and around the machines.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Small but very effective. Warrior area is of great use. Machines are all new, great for use and has not had a fault for me since joining. Treadmills are profound!

Positive experience: A nice gym. Compact but not crowded. Good quality equipment and hygiene practices. It's quite a lovely gym for the Highams park area. I would describe it as an intermediate level gym. However, it is also quite welcoming to newbies. The price is a little higher than what commercial gyms offer, but for the convenience, I would say it's worth it. Additional comment: They have added a dip station which is great and a highly integral part of any gym. I have updated my review to 4 stars instead of 5 as I am noticing an increase of children in the gym lately.

Fantastic experience: Blaze gym is in the perfect location with modern new equipment in a hygienic environment. My fav part of the gym is the classes as that’s the only thing I use now as they are varied throughout the week and you can get a good workout in 45 mins with great music - especially bike and rhythm with the disco ball! It’s a great place to make friends as well! Highly recommend signing up

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible experience! 5 months after end of the contractual membership period they still keep taking payments. No acknowledgement to my emails initially until I had to visit in person to get their attention. Really disappointed with this gym. Definitely DO NOT recommend!

Positive experience: Good small gym, modern equipment, however is missing a few basic equipment that are definitely required to make this place better. Wish they had real mirrors as there are a lot of plastic warped mirrors in place of real ones. Additional weight plated machines have been added which is great, hopefully more to follow which will make this place perfect.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant people running the gym, cannot fault Dee and his family. They are always striving to improve the gym and the space and asking members for feedback. A really good space for exercising, great value for money and does not get too busy! Would recommend!

Negative experience: Very small place and just a pair of each weight.the bench is always bending and they have plastic mirrors which is better remove than have it on the wall. And the too young and disinterested staff don't know all the information. The lockers are not large enough. And I don't know why so many times they put cartoons on television instead of putting beautiful images accompanied by energetic music podiums

Negative experience: First bad experience: I went to this Gym to meet someone to give me a tour. No one came on the decided time, so I had to leave. Second bad experience: I came to the gym, I didn't understand the classes are on a big screen, I didn't expect that. Not great. Third bad experience: I got started on a Barre class (alone in the studio) it was supposed to be for 30 min but stopped after 15 minutes. No one could answer me why or give me some guidance. It said 30 min on the schedule. Forth bad experience: I lost my credit cards in the studio, I was walking around and they must have fallen out from the little pocket on my phone.. Basically someone in the Gym must have found them and not handed them in, because I had them when I arrived but not when I left. The staff was a bit rude about it and not very supportive. Fantastic experience: Joined this gym as it was close to my home. Very good, never crowded, all the machines are fairly new and have tv on them, youtube, even personal builtin fan/aircon awesome music to keep you entertained and motivated. Staff are friendly, classes are fun, any weights and equipment that I need are there. Everything is clean, and other members of the club are considerate and wipe the equipment after themselves. All antibac sprays are provided as well as drinking water. Nothing to complain about perfect.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with this gym. They keep taking multiple payments monthly, it's the 3rd time this has happened. Within the past 2 weeks I've emailed them four times, and I've still not had a response. I have however received leaflets through my door advertising the gym. I can't help but think they may not need to waste money on leaflets if they actually responded to their existing customers emails! Trying to now cancel, but still not had a response. I may well have to block the DD with my bank. Definitely DO NOT recommend!

Negative experience: Well unfortunately I second 10plumy review made before. Based on my experience, 10plumy review is balanced and fair. When I joined I specifically said that I was only interested in the classes, spinning in particular. If I knew what I know now I wouldn't have joined - There might be a good number of classes for a small gym but it's almost impossible to book a class. The classes are over subscribed but they'll happily take the monthly subscription. I say this because I've raised my issue numerous of times via email but I'm being ignored so that tells me that they only care about getting the money! But I must say that when I've managed to get onto a class they have been decent - there are some good instructors like Ryan; he is polite also! I only joined this gym because I couldn't get to Boom Cycle in Holborn - boy have I been spoilt by Boom! I appreciate that during the pandemic it's a difficult time for every business but there's no excuse to disregard emails from a customer. Perhaps I'll get a response after this public complaint. . . I really shouldn't have to do this! Also I've never attended a gym where customers are instructed to put back the spinning bikes after the class - not a H&S expert but I can't help wonder what would happen if ever a customer hurts themselves whilst helping to put away a bike. . .

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of blaze since they first opened in 2017, and I feel the current team of instructors is the strongest they've had. The gym isn't massive, but has all the equipment you need, and they are very up on cleaning, especially important now. The classes are excellent, and the instructors really tailor them to the participants, so if you're brand new, or been training for years, you'll still be challenged. Lastly, I like the personal feel of the gym. The instructors get to know the members, and make you feel part of the community. They've really helped me with my fitness goals, work around injuries, and continue to push me, and others, to be the best they can be.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member since 2019, I have enjoyed working out at Blaze Gym. The team members are so friendly and welcoming which adds a positive vibe to the place. Would highly recommend trying out their bootcamp!

Negative experience: Really great gym with some great classes and equipment. Unfortunately if your looking to get on those classes it's almost impossible to do so. Every class is fully booked within seconds of them being placed on the app. I am basically paying for the chance to be lucky enough to get on to a class. If your looking at joining I would honestly just find somewhere else until they address the issue.

Negative experience: Way too expensive for the facilities on offer. No changing rooms or washing facilities. Very small gym with limit equipment. Also they contacted me to offer memberships when I had actually sent them an enquiry about the facilities available. The guy who rang me was obviously just handed my number with no context.... to make it worse they now send me unsolicited marketing texts.

Positive experience: Nice place, free parking next door with Tesco. Really nice brand new equipment, and lovely staff. Only down side is how small this gym is. When I say small I mean tiny. For how much you pay it's probably not worth it. You would get better value elsewhere

Negative experience: Check the small prints, you have to send an email in order to cancel your membership, do they tell you that? No. Do you get a copy of the contract? No. Is this written on the website? No. Do you have an option to cancel your membership on the website? No. Just a small print on the contract when you sign, so they can make more money. Who cares about customer service.
