Fantastic experience: Really good proper bike shop. Needed a headset for a fairly non standard set of forks. Very happy to help and find a solution to my problem. It was an easy fix this time, but it was clear that they would have engineered a solution had it been more difficult. A high end approach to a low profit job. Fantastic experience: Super helpful & really make time for the customer ! Big ride coming up & I’ve been looking for some cycling shoes for some time . I need quite a wide fit and, as most brands cater for small, stylish Italians , online shoe shopping is a waste of time. Tried a few shops near work with no success & little interest from staff. LCS could not have been more helpful or diligent : instantly measured me up. Didn’t seem to have anything in stock & after some on line searching found a few options, sadly all with long delivery dates (10 weeks!). Undeterred, he then went sorting through his older stock of “oddities” & Bingo ! Left 20 minutes later with a really well fitting pair of shoes a very happy customer ! They could not be more helpful & the best value too! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Great bike shop I went in and spoke with Kev about different models of haibikes he is very knowledgeable discussing my options I went with an alltrack 7 but it had to be ordered in he also fitted a dropper post for me, loving the new bike :) a few weeks down the line my Dad also decided he wanted a haibike so went back again the bike had to be ordered in but as always excellent service from ordering the two bikes to picking them up.... Fantastic experience: Went to halfords to get my sons bike repaired quote at 180 pounds took it here and instead of repairing the bike for cheaper the staff were kind enough to give me a detailed explanation on why it was too big for him and showed me plenty of other options

Fantastic experience: Absolutely stellar. Turned up at opening time with a busted spoke on a Mavic wheels (so of course there are no spoke replacements anywhere to be found) 1 day into a 3 day cycle tour. Within 2 hours Kev had hand built a new rear wheel, moved over my cassette, rotor, and tubeless set up, AND fixed a badly bent derailleur mech. A cycle wizard if you ask me. Enabled me to continue my journey only a couple of hours behind schedule

Fantastic experience: Took my Trek Gravel bike into Leek Cycle Solutions due to what I thought might be a bottom bracket issue. On collection Kevin told me that he had identified numerous problems with the bike, none of which had been previously diagnosed by my usual bike shop. On the first ride after collection the gearing was not changing correctly. Kevin took the bike back immediately and sorted the problem at no additional cost. I can't fault Kevin's bike knowledge or customer service, and the bike is riding better than ever. Thank you Kevin, your efforts are very much appreciated.

Negative experience: I am beyond furious with the service at Leek Cycle Solutions. I took my son's bike in to have the brakes repaired, and paid a considerable amount for the job. They assured me everything was fixed, but when my son went for a ride in the woods, the brakes failed completely. He nearly had a serious accident! This shop is not only dishonest but dangerous. They clearly don't care about the safety of their customers, especially children. The parts they use are obviously cheap and unreliable, and their so-called repairs are a joke. Do not trust Leek Cycle Solutions with your bike or your safety. They are a complete disgrace. Avoid at all costs!

Fantastic experience: More often than not, I go to this shop to buy a Christmas or birthday present for my more enthusiastic cycling husband. But over the years I have dropped in occasionally for repairs to my lightly used bicycles and Kevin, the owner, has always come up trumps

Fantastic experience: Bought my first MTB from here, 5 years ago. During that time, Kevin has always provided a faultless repair service, which has got me back on the road, ASAP. Today, that 5 year old bike is running as smoothly as it did on day one...but it was looking lonely. That's why I've just taken delivery of a brand new one (excellent deal, BTW) for more "gnarly" fun and games. Oh and bonus: I learned more from Kevin about torque wrenches in 15 mins, than I did from a week of watching youtube vids. Top bloke! :)

Fantastic experience: Called in after having issues with my awkwardly sized tyres. We discussed different options including rim replacement to more universally friendly size… luckily the chap managed to find a set of Maxxis tyres in my size (20” 3/8)… an added bonus is that these tyres in particular suit my style of riding more than the originals. We ordered them and they arrived a day or two later, went in picked them up. Tried to install myself but struggled to get the bead to sit on my rim correctly (very tight) took my bicycle up and he sorted them out for me. He noted that brakes were rubbing, and part of the assembly was loose which he sorted for me when he did the tyres. It is nice to know that, not only is the work being done to high standard, but the chap is also taking the extra time, care and attention to examine other critical areas of the bike and providing advice and solutions. Not only was the service outstanding, the prices are great too… both the tyres and fitting including brake adjustment came in well under what I expected. For context, when I got my tyres I looked at some reviews of the tread and compound and found the prices online to be more expensive than in the shop… not even taking into account shipping from online retailers. I often find shops difficult places, staff can make you feel small for not knowing industry terms… my cycling journey doesn’t stretch beyond gentle gravel cycling paths for leisure and so my knowledge is lacking… wasn’t made to feel like an idiot… cannot rate the shop or staff highly enough; friendly, approachable and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Called to say my partners freewheel hub had seized ( nearly). The owner got a whole new hub assembly next day, he shuffled jobs to rebuild the wheel and she was back commuting next day. BRILLIANT! Also repaired bent rear derailleur for (as far as I can tell for the price) free! Many thanks.

Fantastic experience: I’ve visited Leek Cycle Solutions on many occasions but Kevin has most recently helped me with a Shimano recall and some new wheels. His help, knowledge and professionalism with the the recall was greatly appreciated, putting my mind at rest. I collected my new hand-built wheels this morning, Kevin’s advice with what to buy was spot on and the final result are something else, can’t wait to get on the road! Fantastic experience: Leek cycle solutions were absolute saviours with my bike. I managed to completely destroy my rear derailleur in my wheel and this severely bent the hanger on my steel frame. I turned up at the shop feeling quite sorry for myself and expected the frame to be a write off. Within 2 hours the hanger had been straightened, wheels trued and shifting restored. Very very grateful and can highly recommend - thank you!

Fantastic experience: Called in today for the first time as we are holidaying in the area, the shop has a great selection of cycles for all abilities and budgets, the lady was very helpful, polite and offered excellent advice. The service section had in a bike that resembled a motorcycle!! Obviously a skilled technician to repair these machines, overall an excellent business.

Fantastic experience: Ok, this is going to sound gushing! Happened upon the shop whilst on holiday. I had been looking for a solution for a couple of months. I’m not going to go into specifics as I don’t want people taking the mick. All I can say is that they went far above and beyond what I would have expected. How far? I live in Kent but, when, my current e-bike dies, I’ll be looking to them to replace it. Legendary!

They're so very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth. What I particularly want to commend the owner on, is that he speaks to our children - not just to us. Fantastic experience: Took my bike in for a new chain, they told me would cost £10 to fit it for me and would have to leave it there for about an hour, the customer service was all you could ask for, they identified a couple problems with my bike and had no problems sorting them out for me! (Included required parts free of charge). They had no problems giving advice! Would highly recommend this shop! Went in once again to get a head set spacer, as mine was rounded, first look said over tightened replaced in exchange for a good review!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant. We're doing a rather silly challenge cycling up to the mermaid pool every day for a year and needed a really quick turn around. Kevin was absolutely fantastic and sorted it all in a morning. The bike went in a wreck and came out like new - actually better than new as it never worked very well to begin with!

Fantastic experience: I've used this shop for years, bought three bikes, numerous services and repairs when needed. Having read some of the negative reviews, they are in my opinion, way off. I have never found the staff anything more than very polite, professional and helpful. Great advice and they won't force something on you that isn't suitable, even it would benefit the shop. Fantastic experience: Always best to go to a proper bike shop. I had a loud and persistent creak on my bike for over a week whilst on a cycling holiday. I removed, greased and retightened the pedals and tried everything i could to locate the source. On returning to Leek i took the bike to Kevin, convinced it was a problem with the bottom bracket. Next day i get a call. Creaking solved. It was the saddle! Not in a million years would i have found this, as the sound really seemed to be coming from the bottom of the bike. Lesson: it pays to go to an experienced bike mechanic. Likelihood is the problem has been seen many times before. Thank you Leek Cycle Solutions.

Fantastic experience: I would happily give six stars if this was possible. My wife had an issue with her hand reach to the brake leavers on her road bike shifters and we needed some adjustment blocks. The bike, although new to her, is a few years old and Shimano have stopped making them. I phoned the shop on a last, long shot and explained the situation, the owner could not have been more helpful if he had physically made them himself. He went through the technical manuals to check the part numbers and then took the time to go through his stock to see if he had any in a back corner of the draw (so to speak). Turns out he was able to spirit up a set for us which to be honest is just fabulous as the alternative was a complete new set of shifters and possibly even new groupset. Brilliant service and brilliant place, highly recommended from us.

Fantastic experience: Whilst on holiday, discovered I'd forgotten our bike locks so stopped off here to see if they could help. Very pleasant lady served us and no pressure to buy but lots of good advise. Bought a new cable lock at a very reasonable price plus some water bottle tabs too. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Hi Leek Cycle Solutions I feel these guys really deserve my posative review and here is why... I took my sons BMX bike into the shop for a coiuple of reasons! I regulary deliver to this shop and know the guys are helpful and friendly. The other reason my sons BMX that i bought online needed attention! The BMX needed a complete frame swap and obviously this needs proffesional attention. The frame swap wasn't straight forward and Kevin the owner was more than happy to deal with the online retailer and explain things on my behalf. As things turned out the new frame was miss shaped and couldn't be swapped safely. Leek Cycle solutions had had my sons BMX for at least three weeks trying to help me, but unfortuntally this wasn't to be. I think the most important thing here was that Kevin was trying to help, and afer he had spoken to the online retailer they had agreed to replace the BMX for a new one. Without that help i would of lost £300! Keep up the good work and thank you for the work you do in our town :)

Negative experience: Took my bike in over a week ago to get a the back wheel trued, waited 5 days to be told it’s beyond repair and I have to wait for a new wheel to be ordered to the shop, 4 days on and the back wheel has arrived and been changed, gone to pick up the bike just to be told the front wheel is also bent (which they haven’t even bothered checking is repairable). Seriously my old local bike shop literally used to look at the bike and fix it the exact same day I took it into the shop, why on earth do I have to wait probably 2 weeks now for my bike and why am I being made to walk 1 hour each way just to be told there is another issue when they have my phone number? Not to mention they literally had to message my phone to ask me to come collect. Biggest joke going I’m really not happy

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, great product knowledge, and advice. Husand has been looking for his first e bike. Been to a number of stores, including national ones. Basically get told the equivalent of "thats an ebike". Called into Leek Cycle Solutions while on holiday in the area. Even shown how to check the size of the bike was correct for me. No hard sell, just loads of advice. Guess where he's bought his ebike from.

Fantastic experience: I feel compelled to write a review following a brief drop into the shop on Saturday. Kevin the proprietor told me what sort of a year he's had - working 17 hour days, 7 days a week, only 4 days off since March. He has fixed countless shed and garage wrecks, and has struggled with supply of new bikes as all bike retailers have due supply / demand globally. Kevin has worked on my bike for many years when I worked in Leek and I was always very pleased with the quality and service I received. I was disappointed to hear of the 1 star reviews and I feel if people had taken the time to understand what was going on in the background, they could perhaps have been more understanding. We need great local bike shops more than ever at the minute so please continue to give Leek Cycle solutions your support. Update - following a long hiatus where I had not visited, I dropped into Leek Cycle Solutions on Saturday with a bust rear tubeless tyre. Kevin diagnosed the issue and replaced the tyre (fortunately had one is stock) and also replaced chain and cassette while I was there. Great service and got me home without having to ring the missus for the rescue trip! Thanks Kevin!

Fantastic experience: Smashing, Friendly, and Helpful I had two occasions to visit the store just recently. The first was to effect a repair due to a minor collision. This was done in a short time, perfectly executed, and the cost was very fair for the effort involved. Whilst I was there picking up the bike, I asked if they could help with the removal of a piece of broken key in the battery release of my e-bike - done in a jiffy at no cost! The second time was where I asked if they would fit a set of pedals which I had previously purchased from them (thinking I could do this myself, but being proven wrong!). Not only did they do this gratis, but they did them then and there - I was only in the store for about 10 minutes! Leek Cycle Solutions is my go-to place for any of my cycling needs from here on in.
