U7 GYM

Fantastic experience: After a long time out from going public gym. I took the punt and went with Unit 7. By far the best gym I have been to in Exeter great equipment through out with a load of variety from beginner level all the way to heavy lifters. A great vibe throughout with a very welcoming atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get into shape

Fantastic experience: I was a member over the last year but I've been away living in sterling in Scotland for the last couple of months and miss the place and the members! Excellent atmosphere excellent equipment and great staff. Highly recommend and I miss you all! Positive experience: It’s a decent serious strength training gym with some nice machines and dedicated areas for core barbell lifts like squats and bench press. Let down a bit by the old, worn out barbells. Could do with new sets of 29mm power bars. The bench press station would be good to have one with face savers for solo benching saftey. The squat racks have limited holes for set up. Showers could do with a refresh. These changes would elevate it to a top class facility.

Fantastic experience: U7 is a top gym up with London Gyms in that U7 have much interesting equipment to delight the end user. Only critiscism are the power cage/rack safety rails not particularly simplistic to set up. Also have not seen a Smith Machine in the gym

Negative experience: My experience of this gym is that its a good gym blighted by a racist and prejudiced member of the team that has absolutely no shame in verbal abuse...I would appreciate if the gym could terminate my contact forthwith. Thanks

Fantastic experience: Incredible gym with an unreal range of equipment and machines that are hard to find in other places. Perfect bodybuilding setup downstairs and a spacious, well laid out functional/Hyrox style training area upstairs. Bought a day pass for £7.50) as I was only visiting Exeter for a few days and was really impressed. Better than any gym I've been to in London. Keep up the great work!

An awesome spot to enjoy training, work hard and actually make progress. We visited for the day while on a trip for exeter. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Love it and will definitely train there again if I'm nearby. Best gym in exeter. Get down there!

Fantastic experience: Great gym with fantastic range of machines and equipment. Some machines could do with some maintenance, a few didn't have pins in the weight stacks or numbers on the stacks, both easy fixes. Abductor was also jammed too which was a shame. Still great gym with a good range of equipment especially legs. Only brought a week pass as was visiting the area but would definitely return, much better then some of the commercial gyms in town.

Fantastic experience: Possibly the coolest gym ever . Old school machines and equipment , super clean and friendly staff !

Negative experience: Not the best gym in the world. Leg machines are super old, not calibrated and not well maintained. Lack of air conditioning and 1 of 3 step mills work. I joined looking at the pictures. I have told 2 staff meme era about the “WOBBLY WATSON LEG PRESS AND ITS POTENTIAL DANGER” but staff seem uninterested. The toilets could be kept cleaner. I don’t think they’re cleaned enough at peak times. Am I being a snob?? Not at all. For £45 a month I’d say Pure Gym is a better bet for your money. And that’s saying something :-/

Fantastic experience: U7 is by far the best atmospheric fitness business locally. All gyms have a vibe. The people they bring, the type of activity they promote. U7 just seems to have friendly people and everyone's so motivated, all shapes and sizes but constant effort. That's the best thing here, it's somewhere welcome and positive mindset here. Never see many stood around hogging equipment and its got a huge range of equipment for all activities. The classes look good for all levels of fitness.

Fantastic experience: Best gym around for sure. Super knowledgeable staff. Lovely atmosphere. Great equipment. I've been getting personal training sessions here to help recover from a back injury, gain some strength, and improve my look. After a few months with the correct guidance I can see huge improvements on all these fronts. It's been great to invest in myself.

Fantastic experience: The best gym in Exeter in my eyes! Got everything from weights to cardio to CrossFit! 24 hours a day!!

Positive experience: 4 stars, only because non of the cross trainers were switched on or working, and fellow gymers hadn't put their weights back or unloaded the machines after use. Otherwise we would return, was a nice find and had everything we needed, arrived at 6.45am and we made up the numbers to three, very quiet and even when more people came in it still looked empty. Heaps of space.

Fantastic experience: Bought 2 day passes this week as a treat to train somewhere new. Fantastic kit - has everything that you could possibly need - especially love the upstairs training area. All the staff were really friendly and super attentive too. Will definitely be back!

Positive experience: Bit moody and the equipment is very old. One of the treadmills was making me buckle so I had to move to another one. The showers are clean and the toilets are spacious. Overall it was okay for one day one day passes £7.50 which I think is okay value

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym.

Fantastic experience: Good 24/7 gym with wide range of equipment with new stuff added and friendly staff. There is an app to check in which means no remembering pin codes or membership card, you can also track how many visits you've made and book classes through it as well. Clean toilets and changing/shower facilities with lockers (need to bring your own padlock) and vending options at the entrance with preworkout and other sports nutrition items. The only downsides are parking is limited and sometimes music is way too loud.

Positive experience: Definitely has best range of equipment in the city :) Really good range of equipment, probably best in Exeter (i have been to 5 gyms over last year..) Open 24hrs..never so busy you need to wait to use equipment. Downside music is always at full volume and terrible (not sure who selects the music but they should stop). Unable to hear my music on headphones. Average age of people is mid 20s to early 30s, few members add extra 'bits' to help workout, fee posers but generally good attitude.

Positive experience: Good vibe, but the incline bench is appalling

Fantastic experience: Best gym in the city in my opinion! Really good variety of machines and weights. PT's are very friendly and can help you make a big difference after multiple sessions. Only downside is that it can get a bit hot inside and the parking is limited but that helps get your sweat on and encourages you to use your cardio if you have to park further away

Positive experience: Dropped by today to have a look round with a view to joining, parking was no problem, rang the bell and the door was answered instantaneously, the team member was really friendly and happy to take me round and let me take my time to look at the kit, they have a few rows of cardio equipment, a wide range of weight machines with multiple options for each muscle groups, plenty of leg machines for those who don’t skip leg day, there was a good range of free weights and a really good functional fitness area upstairs. They had toilets and changing areas which I didn’t see, however the interior decor was good, the gym was clean and all the equipment looked to be in good condition. Definitely worth a look if your looking to start your fitness journey or looking for a new place to train

Positive experience: Honest review- great equipment, gym is nice and open with plenty of space to train, equipment caters for a variety of different training styles with a more "functional" training platform upstairs, whilst downstairs is more machine based. Good friendly staff on hand usually and very welcoming. My only gripe which is that the overly loud music and blue lighting makes the gym feel more of a nightclub or a training scene from some 80's movie. I guess loud music is good for a workout / bodypump class but maybe not so much for people who wish to train a little more relaxed, focus on technique and train instead of working out at 110mph. On a more serious note I do suffer with tinnitus, so I try to look after my ears. Would be nice to get the music a little quieter instead of feeling like I'm stood in a nightclub Otherwise a great gym!

Fantastic experience: U7 gym is a fantastic gym for all different people, no matter if you’re a newbie, nervous about going into a gym environment, regular gym goer or on prep for a massive competition you will fit in here, the staff/trainers have a massive amount of knowledge between them and all are willing to help, the gym always has a happy buzz going around and the vibe when you walk in is a proper feel good feeling, there’s a fantastic selection of equipment in the gym and they’re always listening to feedback and adding more/updating, the gym has 2 floors with plenty of available equipment across both floors, one thing I really like is your not just a number here and everyone staff and members speak! I have PT sessions with Matt Jackson and I can’t recommend this guy enough to anyone thinking about taking that next step on their fitness journey! That guy is the most understanding and patient person I’ve ever come across in a gym I’m now a long term member here and wouldn’t go to any other gym (I’ve tried but U7 always wins) Every single time I go to the gym I feel comfortable in there and I always feel on top of the world after!

Fantastic experience: I have visted U7 a number of times to offer their members free spine and posture checks. The staff are uber friendly and can't do enough for you. The gym itself is fantastic, a proper raw gym with a modern twist. My partner works out here whenever he is on leave and he can't get enough of it! Would highly recommend to anyone!

Great value, friendly, excellent equipment/facilities, range of membership options, and most important for me unpretentious. Highly recommend a visit to see for yourself.

Fantastic experience: I have tried various gyms around the Exeter area but have found Unit 7 to be the best for me. Unlike a lot of other gyms there is a very friendly atmosphere and you are always made to feel welcome and comfortable. They have a very broad selection of functional equipment and you don't have to wait for endless periods of time to get on. I have been having PT sessions with Craig for the last few weeks and have benefited immensely from his knowledge and motivation in this short period. I would highly recommend Unit 7 to any one who is looking to join a gym with a friendly atmosphere and at an affordable price.

Fantastic experience: I've been training at Unit 7 for over a year now and during that time it's got better and better. The owners have seriously invested in the business providing tons of new equipment, more floor space and putting together a great team of knowledgeable PT's. There's a good mix of people in there from completely beginners to serious athletes, so all in all it's incredibly highly recommended.
